Yes, although I think that if someone is merely using the UGW as a reference then it isn’t so bad. For example, I know I don’t want to stop at my first goal weight, and I know that my UGW would be incredibly hard for me to maintain, so in reality my ideal weight falls somewhere in between my first goal and my UGW, which is about a 30 pound difference or so. Granted, I would love to be able to lose the weight and keep it in the lower range of that 30, but I’m trying to be as realistic as possible and acknowledge that sometimes things don’t quite work that way.
